We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Engineering Manager with a strong background in the Electric Vehicle (EV) and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) domain. The ideal candidate will lead cross-functional engineering teams, drive innovative product development, and ensure successful execution of projects from concept to delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of engineers across mechanical, electrical, software, and systems domains for EV and BESS projects.
- Drive end-to-end product development lifecycle: concept, design, prototyping, testing, validation, and deployment.
- Collaborate with product management, R&D, and manufacturing teams to align engineering efforts with business goals.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, certifications, and safety regulations (ISO, IEC, BIS, etc.).
- Develop project plans, monitor execution, and deliver solutions within defined timelines and budgets.
- Foster innovation in energy storage solutions, battery management systems (BMS), and EV technologies.
- Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and performance management for engineering teams.
- Identify risks, troubleshoot complex issues, and ensure robust problem-solving approaches.
- Coordinate with vendors, suppliers, and external stakeholders for component sourcing and technology integration.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives in design, efficiency, and quality standards.
Key Requirements
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, or related Engineering field.
- 7–8 years of proven engineering experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership/managerial role.
- Strong knowledge of EV systems, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), Battery Management Systems (BMS), and power electronics.
- Experience in leading cross-functional teams and handling multiple projects simultaneously.
- Familiarity with CAD, simulation tools, and system modeling software.
- Deep understanding of industry standards and safety certifications (ISO 26262, IEC 62619, AIS standards, etc.).
- Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and project management skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
Preferred Skills
- Hands-on experience with Lithium-ion battery packs, charging infrastructure, and grid integration.
- Exposure to renewable energy systems and hybrid power solutions.
- Knowledge of IoT integration and data analytics in EV/BESS applications.
- Prior experience in scaling products from prototype to commercial deployment.
